WordCamp San Diego 2016 is taking place this weekend and I’m pretty stoked about it.

This particular WordCamp is going to be a couple of firsts for me. Specifically…

  1. I’ll be speaking at any type of WordPress event that’s not in Georgia,
  2. I’ll be speaking on the business track (as opposed to the developer track).

I’m also looking forward to meeting a number of people who I’ve yet to meet face-to-face, and I’m looking forward to catching up with those I haven’t seen in quite a while.

My Talk at WordCamp San Diego

My talk is going to be held on Sunday at 1:40pm and I’ll be speaking on the topic of personal growth, technology, and running your own business.

Specifically, my talk is described as follows:

Running your own business is tough. There’s tons of things to think about, for sure. But how do you handle that, while also trying to stay current with all the technological changes that seem constant? How do you manage investing in your own growth?

In the talk, I’ll be talking about some development topics at a super high-level (I mean, I can’t completely dismiss what I do, right? :), but I’m going to be tackling it from a personal perspective in that I’ll be using a couple of stories to help drive my point home.

Personal Growth at WordCamp San Diego 2016

Overall, it’s a change of pace from the type of talks I normally give, but I couldn’t be more excited to be presenting.

Oh! And if you’re going to be there, let me know – I hope to try to meet a number of people face-to-face that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting online but yet to meet face-to-face.
