Easier Excerpts 1.9.0 (with Gutenberg Support) Prior to the holidays, I released an update to Easier Excerpts that has support for both editors.

It’s been almost three years since I released the first version of Easier Excerpts. It remains one of my simplest plugins (with Scheduled Post Shortcut being the other); however, it’s one that I dogfood the most.

Now that WordPress 5.0 is out (and, at the time of this writing, WordPress 5.0.2), Gutenberg is out, as well. And with the new editor comes a new way to write excerpts.

So, before the holiday break, I pushed an update to Easier Excerpts that has support for both editors.

Easier Excerpts 1.5.0 The latest version of the plugin changes the coding standards and ensures support with WordPress 4.9.4.

With that said, here’s a rundown of the WordPress plugins I use, why, and where you can get ’em.

Easier Excerpts For WordPress

Easier Excerpts for WordPress is a simple plugin, the first for Pressware Plugins actually, that we recently released.

When you think about combining the tediousness of blogging couple with the proverbial low-hanging fruit, this seemed like a natural choice for a first product. Plus, it falls in line with our goal of trying to help make a better blogging experience.

But if you’re like me, then you like reading some of the back-stories that go into projects like this. So here’s some more information on the plugin, specifically for you bloggers, and then a back-story as to why we chose it, how we chose it, and what’s up next.
