Cardinal Sins of WordPress Development

One of the nicest things about working with WordPress is how easy it is to development on top of it. The downside is that just because it’s easy to accomplish certain tasks doesn’t mean that you’re doing it correctly.

In my most recent post on Envato, I discuss five cardinal sins of WordPress development.

In no particular order, I cover the following five sins:

  1. Ignoring the WordPress Codex
  2. Not Localizing Your Theme
  3. Theme File Disorganization
  4. Disregarding Coding Standards
  5. Not Testing Your Work

Be sure to check out the comments as well – there are plenty of good suggestions there, too.
