Two months ago, I released WP Social Icons. Since then, I’ve shared my thoughts on plugin development and even spoken about them on the WP Tavern podcast.

I’ve received a lot of great feedback regarding minor bugs and feature requests. As of now, WP Social Icons 1.5 is now available.

Up until today, the number one most request feature has been drag and drop sorting of icons. This feature is now available in this release:

Other new features include:

  • UI improvements in the administration screen
  • Added the ability to exclude the email link from opening in a new tab
  • Sortable Icons

The latest version also addresses the following issues:

  • Fixed the problem when attempting to save social icons with fully qualified domain or subdomain names
  • Problem displaying custom icons
  • Clarifies verbiage for when an icon is uploaded (or fails to upload)
  • Now supports icons in format of png/gif/jpg/jpeg
  • Improvements to the widget’s JavaScript source
  • Localization improvements
  • README conversion to Markdown
You can grab a copy of the plugin from the project’s home page. If you’re already a Premium License holder, then the plugin is waiting for you in the forums.
